The key aspect of Zoe’s teaching comes from a point of safety and we will consider how we can bring strength into our practice to protect the body from stress. We need to have the necessary strength to support the joints. This workshop will include specific strengthening techniques relevant to our yoga asana (postures). The beauty of using strength in this way is that it allows us to be even safer in postures.
Bring your usual yoga equipment including a belt/strap and two firm bricks (Maria will also have mats, bricks and belts to spare or to buy).
If anyone has a question they would like to ask before booking (via Maria), do send Zoe an email email@example.com.
Zoe has over 35 years of yoga practice with many different teachers from a variety of traditions which has resulted in an eclectic style of teaching that has been influenced by all those she has worked with. Her fundamental approach is to build strength as the cornerstone of practice and from there all poses become possible. Asana are broken down and analysed. Zoe looks at the muscles that need to be strong or flexible and works in detail gradually building up the components of a pose.
